Parquetry Flooring – Maintenance & Care

Just like any other natural material, as parquetry flooring ages, it adds to the aesthetic and uniqueness of it. However, it is important to make sure that your flooring ages the right way, which means that it demands a certain degree of maintenance and care. This article discusses some simple tips and tricks that you can incorporate in your daily cleaning routine for your parquetry Floor maintenance and care .

Regular Sweeping

Regular sweeping everyday or every other day keeps the dust and small particles out of the way. A micro fiber mop can be used for an effective sweep.

Regular Vacuuming

Vacuuming once a week will clear out the dirt and debris that could result in scratches and pick up particles that was not cleared during sweeping. In addition it is also important to make sure that right vacuum attachment is being used. We recommend using the soft-bristled attachment to make sure your floor doesn’t end up scratched.

Mopping – Using a hardwood cleaner

Mopping your floor is an important step for it to be looking stunning. However, it is important to use a cleaner that is specially formulated for hardwood. Regular cleaner may include chemical that will harm your flooring. Another aspect to look out for is that the mop should be damp and not soaking, as too much water is not the best for your flooring. Mopping your floor once a week is optimal.

Protect your floors from dents and abrasions by using floor pads

The use of floor pads underneath the legs or sharp edges of furniture can help prevent any dents and abrasions. Some additional precautions that can be taken are – removing shoes before entering the house, keeping pets’ nail trimmed.

Don’t let spills go unattended

Immediately mop up spills so they don’t sit on the floors and end up damaging them. Apply hardwood cleaner with a soft cloth to protect the floors.

Hardwood floors benefits from a comfortable environment

Hardwood Floors can be damaged by fluctuating humidity levels over time, so maintaining a consistent relative humidity level of 35% to 55% in the room by using a humidifier in dry conditions and an air conditioner or dehumidifier in hot weather.
